The Empire occupies the north-western part of Zalaria, ending at the Sky Ridge in the west. This huge country is not very welcoming of outsiders, but can be traversed safely as long as you keep a low profile.

Ilos is the largest country on Zalaria after the Empire. Most of it is located on the large peninsula in the south-west of the continent. It also occupies several nearby islands. Although moderately welcoming to travelers, Ilos is merciless to those who break its laws.

The confederacy is a large group of city-states and small nations located roughly between the Empire and Ilos. The purpose of the alliance is to oppose the two superpowers and avoid being conquered by them. Otherwise, the allies are independent of one another, and quarrel quite a bit.

Although called the eastern provinces, this area of Zalaria has no form of unity whatsoever. The name is meant to signify that any settlements in these parts are entirely separate from one another. In many senses, this is a lawless place, with each city fighting for itself alone.
